Kirsty Tatere

Kirsty’s passion has always focused around equity and excellence for all tamarki using evidence informed practice. She understands that research around best practice is constantly evolving and has a keen interest on what is happening globally as well as here in New Zealand.  She is currently involved in literacy training in the Science of Reading building on her extensive knowledge of effective pedagogy and practice in junior classrooms.  

Kirsty believes in using quality assessment for teaching and learning practices that capture and optimise student learning.  She is well qualified to share her knowledge, understanding and skills with teachers from ECE, Primary, Intermediate and Secondary School to make a real difference for learners and their learning.

Kirsty has extensive experience in leading, coaching and working collaboratively with others to effect change in education settings.  She works alongside teams and individuals from Beginning Teachers to Senior Leaders to facilitate discussions that help to grow effective classroom practitioners, leaders and learners.  

Having been in education for 22 years Kirsty brings experience of successful classroom teaching, team leadership and school-wide leadership in a range of areas. Kirsty is Taupō based and able to work with teams and schools in the wider Taupō, Central Plateau, Hawkes Bay areas.
